Ilya Corporation is pleased to begin working with Swire Properties as Procurement Agent for their 286 room Mandarin Oriental Hotel Guangzhou. This will be the second project in China, following Park Hyatt Shanghai.
The hotel will be part of the prestigious TaiKoo Hui mixed-use complex, currently under construction in the Tianhe Central Business District.

The Shangri-La Hotel Tokyo, a member of the Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts group, marks the first Shangri-La Hotel for Japan and the sixty-first in the world. Located on the top 11 floors of the main building of the Marunouchi Trust Tower, a 37-storey complex adjacent to Tokyo Station overlooking the Marunouchi district to the west and out over Tokyo Bay to the east, the hotel has a total of 202 guest rooms.
The hotel's interior design is by Hirsch Bedner Associate (HBA) based in Santa Monica, California and Andre Fu, chief designer of the Hong Kong-based design office AFSO.
ILYA was responsible as purchasing agent for FF&E (furniture, fixtures & equipment).

November 2008 saw the grand opening of the Park Hyatt Shanghai, located on the top 13 floors (floors 79-93) the Shanghai World Financial Center (also known as Shanghai Hills), a 101-storey building standing 492 meters high built by Mori Buildings in Shanghai.
The hotel's interior was designed by the notable New York designer, Tony Chi based on the concept of a modern Chinese residence. Bars and restaurants occupy floors 91-93, and displayed in the three-storey atrium between them is a work by the Japanese artist Yoshio Kitayama, made from bamboo and Japanese paper.
This hotel marks the first time ILYA had taken on the role of purchasing agent for a full-scale FF&E (furniture, fixtures & equipment) and art consultants on an international project.

The 12 story, 1 basement building, Ginza gCube, has been reborn in the space where the Tokyo Gas lifestyle center “Ginza Gas Hall” once stood. Swedish fashion retailer H&M now occupies the underground level and floors 1-3, while the new Tokyo Gas lifestyle information center “Studio+G Ginza” and regional restaurants occupy floors 5 through 12. ILYA provided interior tenant fit-out construction management services for over one year after winning the contract through a competitive bid process.

The 11-story Bvlgari Ginza Tower opened in Tokyo’s most exclusive shopping area, home to a number of the worlds’ premier fashion boutiques, including Cartier and Chanel who are just across the famous Ginza Chuo Street from Bvlgari’s location. The 11-story building boasts a spacious rooftop area where guests can hold exclusive receptions and weddings. Interior Design by Antonio Citterio. BVLGARI IL CAFÉ opened on the 2nd floor of the Omotesando GYRE Bldg, an upscale complex located in the heart of the world renown Omotesando Street shopping district. The Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower, designed to blend seamlessly with the cityscape and streetscape of Tokyo's upscale Nihonbashi-Muromachi district, and its multifunction facilities including offices, hotel, art museum, and retail center are complete.

ILYA's comprehensive interior design and consulting services on this multifaceted project ranged from interior design of the floor housing the executive offices of Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd.; project management for the building owner of the Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo and design development as the local designers of the hotel; interior design for the public areas of the retail center, and interior design for the main store of the long-standing fruit parlor Sembikiya Fruit Co., Ltd.

ILYA Corporation was founded in 1985 at a time when interior design was yet to establish itself as a separate field within this country's architectural sector in recognition of interior design trends in Europe and North America and anticipation of growth in demand here in Japan. Thanks to much support, we celebrated our 20th anniversary in 2005, and as one of the projects marking this milestone we were featured in the magazine WEDGE in an article that was well-received by everyone concerned.
